Why should we care?

Kedusha is not a separate subject from limud haTorah — it is the soil the learning grows in. A talmid whose mind is quietly pulled toward what he has seen on a screen does not walk into the beis medrash whole. The Gemara in front of him is the same Gemara, but the head he brings to it is divided, and a divided head cannot taste the geshmak of what it learns.

Whose Job Is It

Shouldn't the parents deal with it?

In theory, yes — and many of us quietly assume they are. The hard truth is that, in most homes, no one is. Some parents don't know the device exists; some don't understand what's on it; many feel out of their depth with the technology and don't know where to begin. Others assume the yeshiva has it covered. The result is the same: a vacuum where the help should be.

How to take it further?

Don't lecture — open a door. Talmidim brace for mussar and shut down the moment they sense it coming. Instead, name the matter plainly and calmly, as a normal nisayon of this dor that nearly everyone faces. When you speak about it without shock or shame, you tell them it's safe to be honest, and that is more than half the work.
